One of the most important things I have learned in more than 25 years of Turks & Caicos real estate is that hesitation matters.
A client of mine was moving toward a purchase when he called me. There was a little hesitation in his voice and I knew why he was calling. He simply was not comfortable.
At that point, my job was not to persuade him to become comfortable so the transaction could continue. My job was to pay attention to what he was telling me and help him make the right decision.
I advised him not to move forward. Four years later, he and his wife ultimately purchased at The Pinnacle through me, which proved to be the right property for them and their family.
The trust built through that decision gave him and his wife the comfort to make additional property investments with me over time. Had I ignored his hesitation simply because a deal was underway, none of that happens.
For me, the transaction in front of us is never more important than the quality of the decision the client is making. Sometimes protecting a buyer means negotiating harder. Sometimes it means investigating further. And sometimes it means being willing to walk away.
